The Crest is Won

Last weekend Armaan and I had done a short trek.
This weekend Deepa wanted to check it out, and so we went back to the same trail.

A lovely climb, Armaan leading the way, Deepa collecting dried forest leaves along the way.
Each of us encouraging each other until we reached the Crest, with the beautiful view across the Eastern side of the island with the creek, Airoli and upto Vashi.
As well as the western side, upto Goregaon and further up the Ocean at Madh Island.
And serenely nestled between the hills was Tulsi lake.

A sight well worth the climb !

. . . . .

Armaan with his keen eye for a good pic, spoke of the clouds behind the trees and the blue sky beyond.... he took this pic.

GoKarting May 2015

Armaan has been looking forward to his session of Go Karting for a while now.
The last time we went was at the start of the summer break, and now 3 weeks later, he was really excited to go again. So when his friend Shashank made a plan to go together he jumped at it....

He managed to improve over 10 secs on his last lap timings 3 weeks ago, and performed quite impressively on the track !....

Short Trek in Mulund Hills

Armaan had a small Trek listed in his goalsheet for the summer, and yesterday we found the perfect spot for just that.

Not 10 mins from us in the hills behind and part of Sanjay Gandhi National park we found a pathway up the hillside from a back gate of the local park.

It was a good 45 minute climb, but by the time we were 2/3rd the distance I was out of breath and it was beginning to get dark [ lucky for me ], so we turned back, resolving to complete it to the crest another day....

An Interesting Ant Hill formation

We saw some Langurs too. Here is a mother with her infant.

The Mayflower

The Mayflower has always held a special place in my heart.

All along the west coast and other places in India, this tree comes into bloom during the first week of May and lasts through the month.

This particular one I cross on my daily bike ride on the Eastern Express Highway.

It is the only one on the 10km stretch that I cover and is a sight for tired eyes.
