Naresh Visits

Om Sri Ganesha Namaha !
It was the GANESH break and a long weekend, so guess who decides to pop by !
Naresh and I go back a long way to our college days when we were the self-proclaimed Freak Brothers ( Naresh was Phineas Fog, Llewellyn was Fat Freddy, and I was Freewheelin' Franklin )
To help you understand him and his spirit better, heres an illustration :

Here he is trying to make a fast buck off Alisha with his infamous muppet show.

We'd gone parasailing here. ( Note the Happy Eyes )

We had a great weekend catching up and reminiscing with people we didnt know. And at the end of it, all he had to show for 3 days of glory was a pack of Paan Masala from Paradise. Guess the guys at Thomas Cook dont think you're "The Man" anymore eh ?

My Little Whirling Dervish

Whirling Dervish (wurl-ing dur-vish) n. 1. A mystical dancer who stands between the material and cosmic worlds. This dance is part of a sacred ceremony in which the dervish rotates in a precise rhythm, representing the earth revolving on its axis while orbiting the sun. The purpose of the ritual whirling is for the dervish to empty oneself of all distracting thoughts, in a trance; released from the body and conquering dizziness.

Random

Wake up at Oh six hundred, bath at Oh six thirty, breakfast at Oh seven hundred, leave home at Oh seven thirty. (sings) This is the way we go to school, go to school, ..............so early in the morning.
( If you wake up at a different time, and you wake up in a different place, could you wake up as a different person ?...... )

========================================================

This cow had climbed up the divider on busy SP road in Begumpet, and was happily munching away on the grass and pretty leaves.

( The MCH board there reads : " Plant and protect for a better future " )

========================================================

ALISHA sometimes treats ARMAAN like a little pet, and keeps feeding him bits of whatever she's munching. Here its some khatta anaar.

========================================================

ARMAAN keeps waiting for the door to open, and when it does he tries to slip out un-noticed. He knows the latch has something to with it, he's been trying to figure it out.

15th Aug 2005

This piece has inspired me for over 20 years, and continues to do so. Each time I read it I get goose bumps, choke up, and my eyes water.
And thats an honest truth.

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake
from Rabindranath Tagore's Geetanjali
